i am 17 and about 140-145 pounds and want to get buff, so how much pounds of dumbbells do you think i should be lifting for my biceps to get bigger? Now i am doing 20 pounds and i do about 10 reps 3 sets. Should i bump it up a few pounds if i want to get bigger? if so how many pounds ?
Answer:
If you want to be building muscles you want to be doing a maximum of 5-7 reps. If you can do more, then you need to add more weight. You should be trying to increase your wait so you can only do 5-7 reps. Also remember to train all of your muscles, but if your looking on building your biceps, you can always give them more attention. Just remember two things:1) After your finished, eat (meat should be included), and get rest.
2) If your muscles are sore, don't work out until they are no feeling better, this means they are building up muscles and you don't want to over work them.
this is what i do man...:warm up
1. 15lbs 10reps 2setsAfter warm up2. 20lbs 12reps 3 sets
3. 25lbs 14reps 4sets
4. 30lbs 15reps 4sets
5. 20lbs 12reps 4setsMake sure that you rest your muscles after every set because if you dont rest, your just making your muscles tired...also drink lots of water, oh and most importantly dont do this exercise daily do it 3-4days a week, like Monday, Wednesday, Friday, ect, cet, or else your muscles wont grow, u have to allow them to rest..after you feel that the weight is light, just add 5lbs, and so on
