I have always been slim and tall and a size 10 with a nice flat tummy, however recently i have alot of bloating to the extent were i look about 4 months pregnant!! I have suffered from constipation for about 3 months now and taking lactulose which dosent seem to be having an effect. I have been the docs but they gave me a fibre drink called movicol which didnt do anything for me.
How can i get rid of this bloating and lose some of this water retention, its really getting me down as finding my trousers and jeans tight.
Will the laxatives help??
Answer:
Dont take laxatives - they create more problems than solve.
To be regular - drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, consume 25-35g of fiber a day, eat small meals every 2-3 hours, eat 5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day but not more than 4 from those can be fruit.
You can use glycerine suppositories for constipation - they wont mess up your intestines and no surprises - they work in 10-60min.
Laxatives could lead to a slimming disorder so go see ure doc and get some tabs to help get rid of water retention..
i think there might be a more serious problem.. you need to find another doc to help you.
Well, if you are going to have a baby, check with your dr. an enema might help.
A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of hot water helps relieve the feeling of bloating.
You might also consider using digestive enzymes.
The efficiency of the digestive system sometimes needs some help.
Another option is to use a liver flush to get rid of gallstones. If you google "liver flush" you'll find several recipes. Or you can try eating apples for a few days and then taking a few tablespoons of olive oil.
It also helps to eat sour things like sauerkraut and pickles.
I don't think that anything your doctor will give you will work unless he pulls his finger out and tries to find out what is causing the problem. I would either tell him/her to do their job properly or I would change doctor. To be fair to them their resources are fairly small and they have to work on a trial and error basis more often than not. So even going back and saying that it has done nothing maybe enough to prompt him/her to take it to the next stage. Basically don't give up yet. There are some illnesses that can cause your symptoms, but more often than not our bodies are a result of what we put into them. A common cause of bloating and blocking up the system is a reaction to yeast and wheat based products. This includes your cereals, pastas, beers and wines, breads etc. If these food products sound like the ones you consume a lot of then I would cut them out of your diet completely and replace them with corn based products that you can find in health food shops, spirits instead of beer and wine, and vegetables instead of pastas.Keep trying with your doctor though as my advice is based on not a lot as I haven't seen you. I hope this has been of some help, good luck.
