Losing weight off all the wrong places?

Well I've lost weight, and I'm getting into shape, but the weird thing is, I can see a big difference on my ribs. Like I am starting to see my ribs more clearly, as in the bones. When I suck in, you can see them very well and defined. The thing is, I'm not skinny. I still have chub in my bellybutton area and my theighs. Plus a little in my arms. So what is going on? How can I lose more from my stomach and theighs instead of so much from my ribs? Thanks for all advice, a best answer will be chosen, so details are appreciated.

You can't pick and choose where you lose weight/fat. It's pretty much genetically predetermined. Look at your mom, aunts, older siblings, etc. You probably share a similar body type.Personally I've found that stomach and thighs were one of the LAST places I lost weight. You know, women are supposed to carry more body fat than men; it's one of the things that allows us to bear children. We need the extra body fat. This is not to say that you cannot reduce your belly and thighs. The more weight you lose, the more fat you will lose on those areas. But you cannot make it go away any faster in one area over another.For example if you try to really focus on your belly area by doing hundreds of crunches of situps, you are going to have very strong abdominal muscles.but until you burn off the fat covering the muscles, no one is going to be able to see them! That doesn't mean you don't want to work those areas -- but you need to be patient and understand that you want to burn fat AND build muscle, and that takes times.The key to fat burning is cardio cardio cardio! And time. As you get closer to your goal weight, you will begin to see the results you want; but your stomach and thighs may be the last areas to shrink.Hang in there! You will get there eventually.
Just keep doing what you're doing. You'll get there.

you can never spot reduce fat, some people lose weight from certain places first, for some people its their face and other areas, its different for everyone, but if you keep excercising and eating healthy then u will see results from the places you want to!!
normaly your stomach is the last place you body loses weight from so just keep doing what your doing and soon youll look really great

Man used to get food once in days, just like animals. So the food eaten in excess used to get stored in different parts of the body. There is rule for the consumption of the stored fat. The last place to contribute is around the waist. So when you are on a diet or slimming schedule, you will start losing from your face first and so on. In order to accelerate the loss of weight around your waist and thighs, you must exert that part more. Bending, Twisting and running while you try to slim will help. There is a theory that says you lose fat from the top down so the butt and thigh area is the last to slim down, after the boobs and face have lost a lot of appealing plumpness. As if it wasn't hard enough to get motivated to lose surplus pounds, now we find out we get uglier as we get thinner.
I don't know if that is what is happening to you but please be careful not to lose too much weight, because the pear shape is the way many females are born to look, its in the genes, and oh so appealing to man, and very hard to get rid of without getting dangerously underweight. Don't lose more than a healthy amount, or you may end up less happy and much older looking and a lot less appealing to those you may wish to attract.

Whenever i diet it happens to me too, same problem..but this time it didn't because i enrolled in fitness studio and i told them i wanted to "body tone" they showed me right exercises and i went like 2 times a week for hour and half and i got it right in all places.. that helps a lot of course if you have time to go to fitness.Many people don't truly realize how much they can hurt them selves by doing exercises at home.Since i work out at fitness i don't have anymore back pain.So i hope you loose unwonted "pouch".Wish u best!
You cannot spot reduce fat.
No exercise, diet , etc will ever be able to increase or decrease fat loss in any particular area.
And, if you are losing fat you will most likely lose it in the gut/thighs and butt LAST
