Losing weight and gain muscle?

i need to lose weight(lose 15 pounds) and gain muscles in like 6 mths, but currently, i have injured both my legs and my doctor advised me not to do cardio or any other excercises that uses the legs for like 2 mths. And i wish to excercise at home, u know those pushups and stuffs.. So can anyone recommend me any good excercises to do that can help lose weight and gain muscles without using the legs? thanks a lot, and do not ask me to go to the gym, because i do not want to sign up, and neither do i want to take any health pills/ junkies... i only have a 10 pound dumbbell..

you can't turn fat into muscles you can burn fat and build muscle eat healthy and swimming is very good aqua aerobics is probably for you as it helps injuries and its like doing weights but in water and you can't injuries your self and classes can be cheap pay each time you go and get instruction once you have what you need just go and do what you have been taught to any pool also you can use food cans or plastic bottles fill with things to get the desired weight you need and exercise with theres lots of videos out there or google exercise and the muscles you want to work.
Well, jogging is the best way to burn fat, but if you can't manage that, then try swimming. Don't start weight training too heavy first off, because all that will do is turn your body fat, into muscle, and you won't 'lose' much weight at all... Just try to eat really healthy, drink plenty of water, and do some light weights, sit ups, and swimming a few times a week.
u can lose weight as well increase your muscle u just do exercise before break fast eat light thinks like veg soup single chapati etc and as well u can do muscle exercise u even do stomach exercise because it looses fats and decrease weight{ with your same dumble}
Hi you could do sit ups while holding one of your weights behind your head.. lay flat on your back and lift the weights in a side curl fashion.. Or sit in a chair and get 2 paint cans (full) and do curls and side lifts with them.. trust me they will get heavy real quick..you can also do "twists" side to side with the weights to help with your abs..
