Losing the last 5 pounds.?

I currently work out about 4-5 days a week. I usually do about 30 min cardio, and 20 min weight training. Im having a hard time losing the 5 pounds I gained. I seemed toner, but for some reason, the scale won't budge. Should I increase my Cardio to lose the rest of the 5 lbs or should I lift more weights? My diet is about the same, between 1200-1600 calories a day. What do you all think? Please give me some ideas. Thanks all!
Answer:
If you are getting more toned and leaner, then you are gaining muscle, so you are probably losing that last 5 pounds of fat, and replacing the weight with muscle. In other words, your clothes should be fitting better. Things are on track. If you want to push things to lose the fat faster, then increase the cardio to 45 min, 4 times a week, in the morning, on an empty stomach, if possible.Continue with weight lifting 3 times a week. ... Which means you could work out only 4 days a week, if you do cardio in the morn, and weights in the evening.Try to decrease your calories by about 10% (don't starve yourself), and eat clean whole food. For two weeks, you can try to cut out starch - no rice, bread, potatoes- cut out diary, and eat 6 small meals a day of 3 -4 oz of fish or chicken, and lots of veggies. Then, after two weeks, see where you stand. If you've lost the 5 pounds, but your energy is bad, then add more carbs - whole brown rice, sweet potatoes. Also, Omega-3 Fish oil is good.
You need to switch your routine up. The last 5 lbs are so hard to lose because your body is used to your routine. Instead of 30 mins cardio on the treadmill (or whatever you use) do 20 mins on a diff machine and then 25 mins weight training and then another 25 mins again on cardio.
How about doing your weight training first, then your cardio session right after.
When you develop muscle, typically your weight increases. Muscle=extra weight in your body. Like others said, you can attempt to switch your exercise routine around, but I would personally not be at all concerned about seeing an extra 5 lbs on the scale if you are working out so often.
It sounds like you lost the weight, but you gained some muscle too, which is heavier that fat weight...
If you want to loose more, then do cardio first and weights after so you can spend more energy on the cardio, weight loosing exercise, and the rest on weights. For those difficult few pounds, when doing normal cardio, push it even harder, and do a few reps of hard sprinting, pushing it out hard while cruising to pump your heart and sweat hard. This will burn the fat.
i think you should increase your cardio more because cardio burns lots of fat.
